Hello everyone,

I'm a long time user of Alesis electronic drumkits. I first owned the Alesis DM10 Studio kit and now I own an Alesis Strike Pro Kit. I utilize the kit for triggering Superior Drummer 2.0 to record songs. I use Reaper as my DAW.

I'm the drummer of an Alternative/progressive rock band called The Reverse Engineers. We record some songs with the Alesis kit and other songs we record the drums live. All depends on the vibe of the song.

I look forward to chatting with the group about various topics related to Alesis kits. I still need to fix that hi-hat issue with the Strike Pro...it is a finicky piece of the Strike Pro...but all in good time.

Enjoy!

Hi,

I'm a budget drummer currently using a DM10 based "Frankenstein" kit (added toms and cymbals) with mesh conversions. I use it with AD2.

I've seen the Alesis Strike kit for $900 on FB and am considering downsizing.  This isn't the SE version.

Are there issues with this kit?  How do the pads feel compared to mesh?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Well, even the standard Alesis Strike kit has mesh heads so it should feel the same.
The original released Alesis Strike kit (2017) had a lot of trigger pad issues. They were fixed over time, but you do need to make sure that your not buying an original released kit that never had the pads fixed or replaced. I would think any Strike kit made after 2018-2019 would be better. The SE tends to be the safer bet as there were not nearly as many issue with those.
