Y splitters for adding triggers

Do the y splitters have to be TRS or can they be TS if I want two triggers on one input? I ordered TS but I think I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered 1/4 inch TS mono y splitter. Will this work? Please say yes...

Never mind i found that it nees to be TRS to TS and not TS to TS. I guess I will have to send it back and reorder it.

Guitar Center is where I got mine. Any decent music store should carry them... Sam Ash, Buddy's, zZounds, J&R...
