Everything works great apart from hi hat pedal which means I can't open hi hat or play pedal hihat I was wondering if I got dm7x hihat pedal would that cure problem thank you all.
The DMLite (
Medeli DD401) used a Variable Hi Hat Controller.(DMHat Housing) with "DMLite Continuous" where you can see there is a rubber actuator , the DMHat had a tab that flipped back and forth.
The DM7X (
Medeli DD512,Nitro/mesh,Surge/Mesh) also use a variable Hi Hat..difference was it also has half-open.
The original Realhat pedal (included with DM7X) was discontinued/replaced with newer design(s).
There is some confusion with some of the newer designs. You used to be able to distinguish between housings if the pedal was switch type or continuous/variable.
There are pedals that have the DMHat housing..but are continuous/variable..
There are pedals that have the Realhat Housing that are Switch Type.
There are also Variable pedals specifically for the Nitro Mesh.I have never owned one so I can not explain exactly what the difference is other than read the sellers description..some list DMHat or switch type as compatibile,it will also be specified if for Nitro or Not and watch for the jack input...so be aware of all that..the jack on some of the newer designs as there are 1/8 inch (3.5mm)..and 1/4"(6.5mm)..The short lived DM7X later became the Nitro Module. The DM7X DB25 Harness had a 1/4 cable (I believe)..the Nitro DB25 harness I believe is 1/8 and I don't know for sure if that was a permanent change when it went from DM7X to Nitro..if so you would need a 1/4 (6.5mm) to 1/8 (3.5mm) adapter..if you can't find a 1/4 pedal.
The
DEBUT ..
E-DRUM TOTAL and the
TURBO MESH Kits use the same module as the DMLite..but the HH pedals included with the DEBUT and E-DRUM TOTAL are small foot switches "switch type"...the TURBO MESH has the Variable HH Pedal that came with the DMLite.
The latest Nitro release..
Nitro Max..has an entirely different module to add to the confusion.
Since the DM7X and DMLite (Both 2014) were released prior to all this and the original product description (attached) listed "variable hi-hat pedal", I would 1st look for an original Realhat pedal..1/4 (6.5mm jack)..then exploring the other confusing options.
Each came with a variable pedal..1=Realhat Housing..1/4 jack...1= DMHat Housing with 1/8 jack.
I don't know if there was any difference in the range or if there isn't any and the difference is the quality of the pedals (The DMHat housing is cheaper..all plastic) and you could simply use an adapter from 1/4 to 1/8 .This is around the time Alesis started mixing hardware (inventory) to create new kits.
