Will the RealHat controller with firmware vv1.1.0 firmware run on the DM8 Pro module running Trigger Firmware Update [v1.01a]?

Welcome to the Forum !

The DM8 is basically the slimmed down version DM10..except single zone Toms..DB25 Trigger Harness and a few other features (even used the DM10 Updater).
The RealHat Controller uses a Linear Softpot with a rubber actuator that rolls up the resistance..there is no Firmware..it is mechanical.
The Hi Hat Controllers used by the DM8 were the Realhat (Continuos Variable/Softpot) and the Pro-X which is FSR...a wafer that uses a spring for constant pressure/resistance(Same..Exact Controller as the STRIKE)..there may have been some that tried the DMHat (Open/Closed/Switch)..
The Final Update for the DM8 is/was 1.01a..for the Pro-X (FSR).You cannot downgrade the Firmware.
There was No update for using Mesh..Mylar/FSR was the last configuration.
You should still be able to use the Realhat ,the module is programmed/interprets FSR so it will react/respond differently.
You can use the Calibration Feature and experiment with different curves.
How much performance difference between The RealHat and the Pro-X?..unknown..you can check the posts in the Data Base (SEARCH Upper Left) as this is probably the only Forum on the Internet with DM8 info.. off the top of my head I don't recall if anyone posted comparisons between the Hi Hat Calibration Feature (CAL) results for the RealHat and the Pro-X...and/or experimenting with different curves.
The DM8 was discontinued roughly 10 years ago and there aren't many around or users in the Forum anymore.

Thank you for the information that definitely helps.  I have the Pro-X hi hat but have struggled to have it perform like the simpler real hat pedal/cymbal as far as responsiveness and playability.  I have researched the forum for the ultimate settings and have tried multiple combinations and calibrations and physical iterations (different felt combinations, spacing, etc).  Just too frustrating and a calibrated Real Hat just seems to perform without the aggravation.  Just wanted to make sure I have not waited too long to replace and the real hat would no longer work with the DM8 Pro controller which I find more than adequate for my triggering application.  Probably have a little used Pro-X hi hat for sale in the near future.

I have multiple Realhat pedals..there were differences..
but I can't tell you which Drum Module used which Realhat pedal..later on there was even one with 1/8" connector for another Kit.There isn't much info for the DM8/Pro-X combo..as mentioned before it is the same controller the STRIKE uses.
The only difference is the top cymbal. The Pro-X used a DMPad Style..single zone , which many complained it was loud and like hitting a trash can lid.
The STRIKE is dual zone..rubber.
There was an updated spring that replaced the Black one..unknown what difference it would make.

I still have an original DM10 and numerous STRIKE Hi hats/Controllers and both the black and chrome springs.
One thing that did make a difference was Hi hat Combo selection..not all the Hi Hat Combinations in the modules are a full range Hi hat.

I show both Modules have the same Hi Hat Combos...whether or not the samples are exactly the same is unknown.
I presume they would be and just some of the DM10 Features weren't available..but the Tom Rims are missing so the Sound Rom may have been different.
The Calibration procedure for both is identical with the exception of DM8 press F1 for OPEN..F2 for CLOSED
The DM10 F1 or F2 for OPEN..F3 or F4 for CLOSED.
You could probably refer to posts using the DM10 and Pro-X and see if you can get some info as far as settings etc.
