Hey folks,

I've had a DM10 sitting in my basement since Monday. I haven't had a chance to put it together because I've had a crazy week. Isn't she a beauty?

Hopefully I'll set it up tonight. I'll be combining it with my DM7 and selling off some parts. Here's the DM7; there aren't real too many non-stock photos the kit out there:

I'll be doing a mesh head conversion and adding a Alesis I/O, which will hopefully come in next week.

Spent a part of last night putting it all together:

I added an extra leg and a connector tube from my DM7 so I could place 3 toms in front. I also added the 3 cymbals from the DM7. I added an extra tom at the very right too. Finally, I decided to add a real snare stand; I never really liked the arm sticking out on the DM7/DM10. I wanted to pick up a cheap $50 one but ended up (typical me) buying a $140 DW Heavy Duty stand this morning like this:

I'll be adding a cowbell to the kit soon enough. I want to order one of those Cow Paddy triggers ... look 'em up on Ebay.

I only got about 30 minutes to fiddle with it but I know I'm really going to love it. I love having the ability to change the volume of the components with the faders. All the pads are dual zone. I don't know if they have 2 piezos (I'm guessing they have to), but you get totally differnt sounds by hitting the rims. The techno beats and wonky kits are great to fun to play with. My kids love it. Speaking of kids, I think I'll need to get some type of mini felt mallets so they don't bash the crap out of the heads. It wasn't an issue with the rubber DM7 pads.

The chokeable crash from my DM7 works great.

The only thing that really jumped out was how loud the bass drum pad is. I'm happy that I'll be converting it to a mesh head. If the noise doesn't go down, I'll just use my DM7 rubber bass pad.

I should be getting my mesh heads and the Trigger I/O this week ...

Hi guys, I got my Billy Blast Ballistech II mesh heads this week. It took about 10 minutes each pad to change over. What a difference. It really cut down the noise and improved the feel of the heads.

I also added a Trigger I/O which works great!

I'm from Moncton, New Brunswick. I got my kit from lamusic.ca. Great shop to deal with. It only cost me $50 to ship too.

Hey folx. I ordered two cowbells off eBay ... look 'em up by searching for " Cowpaddy". They work great!

Here's where I positioned them:

I was getting a lot of cross talk on my cymbals so I got a cymbal stand and DYI'd a bracket to hold them:

It's in the description - he's using a Trigger I/O - it has loads more inputs, and you connect it to the Dm10 module via a MIDI cable.
