DM10X Snare Stand
« on: November 15, 2018, 06:34:27 PM »
I think I just found my answer but I'll ask anyway.  I just picked up a DM10X for a great deal.

I went to setup the snare stand and at the highest extension, this sucker is low.

I'm 6' 2" and have long legs.

Fully extended this is too short of a snare height for me.

Has anyone else had this problem?  If yes have you come up with a fix?

I'm not sure there would be a fix other than buying a new stand. I hated how flimsy that stand was when I got my DM10X kit. Do one of the first things I replaced was the snare stand. Even a cheap stand is likely to be better than that one and offer the height you need. Mine cost me around $60 Aus (around $45US) and it is substantial and Pro compared to that stand.

I have another stand I got with a DM8 kit I bought a few months back, it's just at our "practice" location and I'm trying not to transport too much back and forth.

Not a super huge deal if I can't figure something out.  I may end up just selling it.

I have an idea for a "riser" I might try.  I think I just need about 1"......maybe 1.5" tops.
