Is this thing for real?

https://slickdeals.net/f/12261598-guitar-center-black-friday-alesis-strike-multi-pad-for-699-99

Now that would be cool.

I received a Flyer a few days ago from Guitar Center..Sam Ash and some pre-order notices..available Nov 23.
There was also a link to Note Repeat for setting it up with Ableton Drum Rack.
The web pages have all been pulled/cached and "404"..etc including pre-order ... probably at the request of Alesis..
Same thing happened with Roland and new product releases in May.
The only information I have for it is:

"The Strike MultiPad is the most powerful percussion pad on the market. It comes with a 32GB on board hard drive with over 8,000 samples and loops,
9 rubber pads with RGB lights, and the ability to load samples with a USB thumb drive."

Hey Guys,

I merged the two topics together.

What I would like to know is if there are extra trigger inputs on the unit, besides a bass drum input.

Not sure if its multisample or one shots sample, if multisample, could be something special, but still need to wait if there is loading time and how reliable is the units.

I reckon it will just be the Strike in a different form factor.

That's odd...I spoke with a live rep with Sam Ash Saturday on my pre-order reservation and was told "not available"..
We'll see how it goes.

I figured that's probably what would happen again.
My reservation link worked again ..just once,so I archived the web page.
You could paste it into your first post until they figure out whats going on,maybe it's just a Black Friday sale.

Last year Alesis did a Black Friday/Direct Buy sale on the DM10 studio Kit for $499.95 that wasn't mentioned on their site or advertised anywhere
It took you straight to the Alesis Store checkout.

So far it's 2 shots sample, a and b layer imports, velocity switch setting, round robin, alternate, loop, mono, poly.

Still unknown can we run backing track or locked to 1min, how much time it take to load kits etc..

I suspect Alesis are playing more B/s name games by possibly inferring the multipad has similar functions compared to the Strike module.

Still unknown can we run backing track or locked to 1min, how much time it take to load kits etc..

FAQ page is now available..loading time is based on amount of samples, sample limits are based on space instead of size.
There are also samples from the STRIKE module.

Alesis Strike MultiPad - Frequently Asked Questions

How Fast can you load a kit on the Strike Multipad?
The Multipad streams samples direct from their location in the internal memory or your connected USB drive, which means kit loading time will depend only on the number of samples used in the kit. For example, a kit with 9 samples (1 per pad) will load twice as fast as a kit with 18 samples (2 per pad). The size of the samples does not matter, whether it's a snare sample or an hour-long backing track.

What is the max capacity of storage per preset kit?
Because the Strike Multipad streams samples directly from their location in the internal memory or connected USB drive, the only limitation to the size of your samples/kit is the available space on your drive. This is a great advantage if you are using the Strike Multipad to playback full backing tracks.

How many sounds are in the internal storage?
The Strike Multipad comes with over 8,000 pre-programmed samples and loops; over 6GB of content! This will include choice content from the Strike and Strike Pro, as well as tons of new drum, percussion, and melodic instrument packs all stored in the internal memory and ready to play.

After reading, still spd-sx have edge on fast loading time, the new alesis loading time depend on how many sample is, not the length, but Alesis multipad combine spd-30\ spd-sx in one units.

From Alesis developer:
Loading time. If you count all the pads, external inputs, and foot controls... the SMP has 19 different “triggers”, and each can layer 2 samples!

(that’s 38 total)

Say you max all 38 of those with long backing tracks; you’re still looking at a max 2-3 second load time.

Thats is enought fast.
