Help with Surge Ride Piezo (bell)
« on: December 14, 2010, 11:16:27 PM »
Hey all,

I recently had some issues with lousy performance on my surge ride bell. I figured I'd replace the piezo (as I have had to do on some of my crashes and kick pads.. not really that difficult and the parts are somewhat standard). The problem is that once I drilled out the rivets, I found that there was only a sliver left of the piezo ring. This ring looks to be ceramic, and come to think about it,  I did notice some pieces of it on the floor after our last show. Is there a place where I can get a replacement piezo (or 5)? It looks to be only sandwiched in between two leads (not soldered).

If I had known it was ceramic I might have been a bit more gentile (shrug).

I don't know.  Radio Shack?

As for beating your kit...  what sticks are you using?   A's or B's?   Just curious. While, I don't play as much as you, I haven't had anything fail  (knock on wood).
