Samplepad pro sd card question

Hi folks, First post, hoping someone can help. We've just got a samplepad pro which we're using for a music session on an adventure playground. It's an upgrade from the very basic drum pad we were using previously, and it's great.

We're keen to make use of the SD card for making samples with kids, getting to play a sound you recorded is a really exciting thing! We've had a discussion about whether or not it might be possible to drop an sd card from something like an Alesis Palmtrack straight into the Samplepad pro - to make this process more kidfriendly. If they record a sound and then we have to edit/format it and swap it over they may lose interest/not be there by the point it's ready. It'll also mean bringing extra gear in the form of a laptop to do that with.

I should say that I'm used to the usual complexities of this - normalising levels, trimming samples etc. and it may well be that we have to have an editing stage in this process anyway, but wanted to ask the community if it might be possible to transfer directly from one device to the other, as I can imagine formats might differ? I know the samplepad pro needs mono files and has spec for files which I think we could match, it's whether or not the format would transfer directly from the palmtrack to the samplepad pro. Hope you can help!
Thanks all!
