Nitro module - can it be used as an audio device?
« on: January 05, 2023, 08:12:29 AM »
Hello

New user here.

I have just connected my Nitro module to a Windows laptop, and tried the free Addictive Drums demo.

MIDI mapping was pretty simple. I can play drums through the laptops audio device.

My question is: can I use the Nitro as an audio device?
So that the laptop uses the Nitro as the audio output.

I've searched high and low, and I cannot find an answer to this.

I have installed the very latest ASIO4ALL drivers.

Short answer..if you are asking if the Nitro has USB audio..No.
Laptops are probably the worst as far as audio cards go.It is always recommended to use an audio interface.
You connect an output from the laptop like the headphone or line out (if the laptop has it) to the Aux input on the module..but as far as using the module as a USB Audio device, you can't.The only Alesis drum module that has USB B-Direction Audio is the DM10 MKII Pro.The STRIKE Multipad also has USB Bi-Direction Audio/MIDI..
There are numerous posts for using a laptop with a drum module.Use the search upper left.
