Alesis DM10 PRO 1st version upgrade

I have Alesis DM10 PRO 1st version kit with 3x8"+2x10" and want to upgrade.

I don´t like the Mylar heads and the Surge cymbals have ok feel but the triggers are not good. I use it with VST plugins via MIDI into interface for playing and recording.

I live in a flat and want the lowest volume possible but with great feeling of mesh heads and silent cymbals. I don´t care to use the rim sounds on the toms but on the snare it would be nice.

1. What mesh conversion kit is the best, 682Drums, drum-tec or other?
2. How would putting Rtom Black Hole heads on and then use Rtom bh Single-Zone Triggers work?
3. I am thinking about silent cymbals and mic them overhead with two condenser microphones or...
4. Use Yamaha EAD10 with silent cymbals and use the EAD10 instead of the DM10 module.

That's the tough one. The DM10 Pro kit is 16 years old and I'm not sure what is really out there for a drop in conversion at this point. I can tell you that if the kit is still stock, just changing heads isn't going to do much for you as that stock foam pads will be worn out. I'm sure with a simple search on Youtube you can find some video on converting the older DM10 Pro pad.

I have a DM Studio kit that had the mylar heads and I did a mesh conversion a few years ago using the yoga mat approach detailed in this post: https://www.alesisdrummer.com/index.php?topic=6794.msg46655#msg46655 and it has been fine for me for a few years. Good luck.
