« on: January 11, 2024, 05:50:05 PM »
I'm having an issue with brand new headphones . I picked up some Pioneer HDJ-X5 and plugged it into my module. I have the Alesis Strike Pro se. I can barely hear the drums with the module volume turned all the way up. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you .

Welcome to the Forum !

You should post more info in the Title when starting a Topic..ie STRIKE Low Volume...."Heaphone" isn't going to get much of a response as I almost ignored it thinking it was yet another post asking about which type of headphone everybody uses

I am not familiar with that particular Headphone for Drum Monitoring and their performance but the range is in the 5Hz - 30kHz freq so they should work with drums..
Have you tested the headphones on anything else for low volume?
Have you tried another set of Headphones?..IEM..earbuds,Airpods etc
Have you tested the Modules outputs for low volume?
Did you purchase the SE Kit new or used ?...there are modules that had/have the low volume problem which develops on the 101990268014-A ,PCB, TP Assembly and progressively gets worse...usually occurs for both the Headphone and Main output.
Some of the early Modules when STRIKE/STRIKE Pro was first released had this issue also.
This Board is also the Main power distribution board.
I have been seeing more and more popping up on ebay..including used Kits at a discount that barely mention/buried in description the problem if it exists or mention it as no big deal and have posted warnings and what to watch out for especially Non-Working STRIKE Modules for Sale

If it turns out to be the Board...The only fix I could come up without replacing the PCB/TP board ($350.00) or purchase a headphone amp is to enable the Compression (under Kit FX) and raise it.
It will increase the volume..but it won't solve the overall problem...bad board or going bad.
Make sure FX are turned on under the Voice settings.Voice > FX/MIDI.
It is not a Global Fix..you would have to do for every kit.
KIT/FX > COMP

Hopefully it's the headphones..and not the board....

Thanks for the respone . I've read that getting a mixer will help with the volume. I plugged my headphones into my drum monitor (Simmons DA350) and headphones work good as long as i pulled the plug out a tad. As for voice fx/Midi the readings are eq/comp on , the reverb send , fx1 send and fx2 send are at 00. I've definitely got to do more research on this module . It's pretty endepth. It took me a bit to figure out the kick drum . Overall I like this kit . I bought it brand new and have only had it a week or so.

The EQ/COMP may be on but you need to check under Kit FX and see what the actual Compressor Output level is set to..you can raise it and there are also presets..
I missed the boat on the DA350..had an opportunity to purchase a number of them at a great price ($250.00) when the system was discontinued, delayed responding for a couple days and they were sold out.."You Snooze you Looze"..
