dm10 pro vs dm10 studio kits
« on: March 22, 2010, 08:01:52 PM »
whats the difference in these 2 kits? the dm10 pro kit has 1 snare and 3 toms and 3 surge cymbals and its £800 BUT the studio kit has 1 snare 4 toms and 4 cymbals and its only £550
the cymbals on the studio kit are plastic and not the surge ones but why the BIG price difference?

I'm researching this too, and haven't found much more than Alesis Dan on YouTube has mentioned.

From what I hear the rack is different (black aluminum vs heavy chrome and different hardware connectors), and is less suited to being set up and torn down than the pro. Also note that the pro has 2 10" pads and the studio has 1.

Anyone else on this?

from what ive gathered it has the same module but it has rubber cymbals for noise reduction in studios. im contemplating buying a dm10 but thinking why spend £800 on a dm10 pro then another £200 modding it when i can get exactly what im after for £200 less!
if everything is the same as the pro version then i think im gonna have to get the studio version

We shipped the first 215ish DM10 Studio Kits to retailers last Friday, so that's why you haven't seen them in stores until now. The differences are the cymbals (DMPad 12HH, 12Crash, 14Ride, 12Cymbal), tom pads (four 8"), and the rack (aluminum StealthRack).

Maybe two months ago, many of us were asking these same questions.  LOL.  Why is the studio such an awesome deal?!  'Cause it is, that's why.  :D

But, truth be told, I'm very happy with the Pro Kit, and glad i didn't wait for the Studio.   10" tom is a big difference to me, and it turns out, i REALLY like the feel of the surge cymbals.

Either way, they are both great kits, but for different reasons.

Are you going to do that?  You sound like me a few months ago.  :D  The difference between the DM5 and DM10 voices are dramatic, imo.

I'd have a question for ALESIS:

Any news for the shipping of 'DM10 Studio Kits' to Italy?  ???
