ALESIS Re-vamping their site..
« on: December 13, 2015, 10:24:50 PM »
I see Alesis has been busy..and coming up with "new" promotions..
and a "spokes drummer" ?..Jason Stutter

Look down on the DM10X MESH KIT page and you'll see.."Additional downloadable collections by Sonivox"

http://alesis.com/promotions/dm10-mesh-kits/

One would think that would mean "additional" for the DM10 module..since it is on that products page..but at 20GB it looks like they are just getting into/promoting Vst's...kind of misleading

I wonder if this "collection" or any future releases are mapped for the DM10 module ??..

Yeah, that's Sonivox, they sell the Blue Jay sound set. I guess the Tony Coleman VST is one of the newest in their line of products. Sounds ok.. there's a trial version you can get. The video is interesting:

A recent topic on the 'other Alesis forum' suggests the DM10 Blue Jay sound set may be history (http://community.alesis.com/alesis/topics/how-to-purchase-the-blue-jay-set-help-please).
It's no surprise with plenty of VST instrument collections available to expand edrum modules with realistic sounds.
At least the new Crimson Mesh kit will allow additional kits and samples to be installed from a USB flash drive.

I'm still waiting to see if they will ever offer blue jay again or any other sound set equivalent.

Actually, the Blue Jay kit was a VST by Sonivox first. It was then hastily converted to be a sound set for the Alesis DM10 after other sounds set were made available for the Peal REDbox.

AFAICR the Blue Jay was a sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt sampler first (i still have it on my Mac;-)) and then became a separated VSTi plugin with the "DVI player" from Sonivox.

The actual offer is the latest DVI player version with the old sounds (you can hear it in the demo files on the web).
