Are the problems with Alesis Strike Multipad fixed?

I was reconsidering getting one of these until I researched it a bit.
I read about white screen, no boot, file corruption, and many other problems with early units.
Videos of people tearing them apart trying to replace stuff too.
They seem almost like a great idea that was pretty much junk in practice.

So....I'm wondering if they're still like that, or have the problems been taken care of?
I've got a Yamaha DTX M12 that's about 15 years old, and have never had a problem with it,
so what I've read about the Strike makes me very nervous about getting one.

Anyone have good experiences with it?
