LUDWIG TPP v1.2 User Manual

NOTE:
Re-Branded AVATAR PD708 with Double the Sample count
.LUDWIG TPP = 2,000+ (PD708 = 1,000+ Samples)
If John Emrich also did the Samples for the Multipad..should be some great sounding Samples...

The LUDWIG Version is $200 more than the PD708..

If you would like to compare the Sounds/Samples between the 2..
Go to the Downloads for each..
Download the Editor and the Factory Sound Library for each .

The Editor will import the BIN Files and allow you to Audition All of the Samples/Sounds one by one.
The Editor does Not require Hardware connection.

The LUDWIG User manual has a List of all Sounds (2,006)..the PD708 does Not....
The 1st 8  or 9 on the LUDWIG List are incorrect..however it looks like the rest lineup
It will give you an idea of whether or not you like the Factory Sounds/Samples or if you'll be doing more Importing.

Overall I like that Ludwig is dipping their toe into the electronic drum arena. Their first two products do look to be re-brands but at least they are using custom sounds in these products. For me the most interesting thing about Ludwig being involved with electronic percussion is their new logo. This tells me there are being serious about this new direction.

Can't wait to try this one.  Never seen the PD708 around here to try.
The most important feature for me would be the feel of the pads.

I just got an Alesis SPP, and the pads feels great.
It's pretty crippled for features if using it on its own though.

If the pads respond to me liking on the Ludwig, I will be trading in
my Yamaha Multi 12 for it, even though the Ludwig looks to
be less well spec'd than the M12.
There's a Guitar Center near here where I usually try stuff like that out,
but they don't have one in stock yet.

Thanks for the tip Chaser about being able to audition the sounds with the editor.
I'll be doing that soon.
