Hell all, I'm so happy to have found this forum. I've had my Alesis 10 for about a week now and I have attempted to do the mesh head upgrade (no solder.) I followed this video from 682 drums
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmIF3ksgP7Y . I ran into two issues. The biggest issue I am facing is now my bass drum does not work. However, if I take the conducer and tap it directly with my finger or a drum stick it will give me sound, a strong sound. I've fully taken it apart and checked the soldering and the soldering appears to be on point. If I reassemble the drum, whether it's with the mod or back to factory settings with the "sandwich" in order and the mylar head, I still get no reaction. I have noticed that the thin foam disk that the conducer/conducer plastic disk is glued to has a couple rips in it, but I don't think that should make it unusable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be wrong? I don't understand what I could have done to break it. I was careful with the wires. I even checked the soldering on the jack when I had the pad fully apart.
EDIT: I just found this post
http://community.alesis.com/alesis/topics/dm-10-kick-drum-problem and I will try fix it by re-initializing the module when I get home.
EDIT2: That reinitialize seem to get the bassdrum "working" but now I have a ton of crosstalk and most of the drums are the wrong sound. I am on hold with customer support now. I am trying to download updated firmware but all of the downloads give me "404 page not found"
