Ok so i had an old mapex venus kit my dads friend gave to him which he gave to me because im the drummer. After cutting them in half and going through alot of trial and error staining them i decide to just spray paint the whole shells matte black inside and out and then wrap them with a custom back to the future wrap i ordered from drum wrap bum. The triggers are from convertible percussion on ebay. They are not as good as quartz but the adhesive is a bit better. I have the triggers on a furniture foot and the foot is mounted into a 1" L bracket. No bulging but i will not have the luxury of positional sensing. The remo heads on there were made into 2-ply by combining a pearl mesh head underneath the remo silent stroke. They were stitched together with thin metal wire for a strong hold. This method has given the heads more durability and a light greyish cool look with less transparency. And lastly i for the rim silencers i went to autozone and picked up u-shaped door trim with adhesive inside. It fits perfectly and its $10.00 for 8 feet. It only cover 2 toms. I will keep you updated on the progress of my kit until then let me know what you think.
