A friend sent this to me.  I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but from the article, it may be amusing.

Guys,

This is the Mad Drummer, who I talked about in this thread: http://www.dmdrummer.com/index.php?topic=403.0

He definitely got me thinking about stage presence.. think about it.. Do you say "Hey we're playing next weekend.. come listen to us??"

I've been watching a lot of great drummers on youtube. A few of my favs for showmanship/presence are as follows:

Dave Grohl
Shannon Larkin? (Godsmack)
Bonzo
Keith Moon
Tommy Lee

I'm not so much about the stick flips (only cool if you don't F up the beat), but really getting into the music and fueling the crowd with a few moves.

Anyone want to comment on stage presence, or add to the list? I know this is only the tip of the iceberg..

i'm terrible with names, so I don't think I can add to that list.

What cracks me up about this guy is that he's soo over the top, that it's distracting.   It's a cross between funny and an awkward laugh.   :D

You're absolutely right... but that dude has the moves DOWN!  He's good at that s#!+!  (But, the drumming is pretty standard.)  Good point though: if you're playing live, you are there to entertain, and that means you have to at least THINK about stage presence...
