Roland cymbals should work fine on the DM5. Only single zone though since the DM5 does not support multi-zone cymbals.

Roland cymbals do operate as dual-zone cymbals with the DM10.  I've migrated a couple of them over to my DM10 kit from my old Roland kit, and they work nicely, dual-zone and all.

I use a Roland CY-5 as my main crash on one Alesis kit I jam on, it chokes better than the Alesis crashes.
