Lookback 25 years of Edrums (Modern Drummer)

I've been on the edrum bandwagon for a while now (around 1992) and I was going through some of my old magazines and found an issue of Modern Drummer May 2000. This is a good read and it really shows what edrums were like twenty-five years ago. Below is a link to a pdf version of the magazine. What do you guys think have stayed the same and what has changed?

Interesting read.  I haven't followed edrum stuff closely, always been acoustic drums.

Still it seems mostly pad/trigger->module->amp/speaker, with many refinements.

And of course you're still 'limited only by your imagination.'

I think some of the stuff listed in the e-section is still available to buy new.
