Author Topic: Magnatrack Triggers on KickStarter - the first dual-sided drum trigger ???  (Read 3676 times)

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here but not to E-drums as I have been playing Roland, Yamaha, and 2box kits for years.  I have also done a couple DIY projects with keller maple shells.

Anyway, a friend of mine is working on a Kickstarter campaign for these triggers.  He's helped me solve some DIY issues, so I want to help him by getting this out there.  Let's get this off the ground!

Check out the videos and read about them...

THank you!

What does it mean  by "dual sized trigger"? It's not like we are hitting both of the sides of the head.

Apparently these triggers "float on the drum head" using neodymium magnets (refer to the Magnatrack press release) http://www.magnatracktrigger.com/
It looks like a top magnet is securing the sensor in place under the head or cymbal, and a rim trigger view indicates that sensor doesn't need any extra magnet.

The funding campaign has been moved to: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/magnatrack-the-first-dual-sided-drum-trigger#/story

Here's some more discussion about these gizmos: http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,2588.msg22055.html#msg22055

An application note on K/s sounds interesting: "Check out our events calendar for a tutorial on how to build your own trigger bar for under $20". It should also function OK as a compact kick trigger like the Triggera Krigg: http://triggera.com/kick-pedal-trigger
