The ride cymbal has a three contact plug. Anyone know which two contacts are the cymbal and what the other one is for?
Dual Cable Ride Cymbals were setup for Dual Input Modules.1 Piezo..2-switches,so a switch on each.
The Inputs/Outputs are a Circuit..1-Cymbal/Output/Module/input is Bow/Bell..the other is Edge Choke.
To use a Dual Cable Cymbal for a Module requiring 1 input, the dummy plug is used or the cymbal won't function as you have an open circuit.
You have the Choice for Bow/Bell..or Edge Choke..depending on which port you place the Dummy Plug...
Some Modules like the Original DM10 had the option to change the Ride to a Dual Zone in the settings and free up the 2nd input for use with another Instrument.
The DM10 MKII pro can be split into 2 separate cymbals also.
The STRIKE Module uses a Dual cable Ride..however does not have that option and the 2nd input (Ride 2) can only be used in circuit.
Triple Zone Single Cable Cymbals are also 1-Piezo..2-Switches however use a resistor to separate the Bell/Edge switches.
