alesis nitro max module issues
« on: July 10, 2025, 06:32:11 PM »
Hi.  I have had my nitro max since February and I love it, however has of last week the bluetooth light doesnt come on.   The bluetooth is functional just no light.

Also the record light is always on.  I dont think I am recording anything.  I tried a factory reset but still no bluetooth light and record light is constant.  Any advise?  Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum !

I have run across this on 3 Modules.I also have one myself.
The Bluetooth LED and Drum MUTE went out..and today I powered up to check and as I ran through the buttons..the Song/Pattern Button LED went out as I pressed it.You are pushing down on a silicone housing on top of an LED...so you are actually pushing down directly on a LED.
I haven't measured the inside travel of the Button/Housing to see if it's possible to come into direct contact with the LED if someone presses extremely hard...or deliberate.
I would have suggested a SMD Type.

The RECORD has always been on with a Low Glow..then brighter and matches the click/BPM when recording.
Those Functions all still work..just the LED doesn't light up..
I completely disassembled/cleaned all of the "Resistive" areas when this started happening which wasn't long after the release of the Module..however you are the first to report in this Forum.
I haven't figured out exactly why as the LED's are also part of a resistive switch.
The LED'S are extremely small (grain of rice) and I can't seem to find replacements to see if it is the LED itself...and if it is one of the newer "Smart" LED's available with an IC chip in it or something.

These Modules are small .. about the size of a 3.5 HDD bay.....BFD Samples are much better.

I do not like the fact you need a reference chart for the sounds as they chose to use numbers instead of names.

I am keeping one around in case I run across a Nitro MAX Pro Module Cheap..so I can swap cases..Not a Fan of the Red.

The Pro has (4) more Kits...(72) more samples
