Kick drum mesh head
« on: April 27, 2021, 05:25:37 AM »
Hi, I have noticed a really smooth patch on my Strike Pro kick drum mesh head where the beater constantly hits. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or am I damaging the mesh by not using the beater correctly thanks :-)

Which side of the beater are you using against the pad? My understanding is that the "soft" side can actually damage the mesh head. From what I've heard, you should be using the plastic beater.

I noticed the same and am playing with plastic side so I bought a patch. Now I just replace when it gets worn out. Atm I'm using Evans EQ patch and it looks like it will last a while.
