While deciphering the voice list of my DM10 MKII Pro module I noticed that it contained a number of hi-hat edge voices. Seemed useless since the kit comes with a single-zone hi-hat. I took one of my dual-zone 14" crash cymbals and tried it and found that the hi-hat input does indeed support a dual-zone cymbal. So, I found a used 12" dual-zone cymbal on eBay for a reasonable price and ordered it. Arrived today and was able to program edge and bow separate voices. Why, you might ask? because when I am using my double bass pedal I don't want the hi-hat sounding open, so by having an edge voice I can do this without that issue.
