Alesis 14" 3-zone ZTRS and DM10 1st Gen?
« on: November 07, 2020, 08:16:02 PM »
Is there any way to make the DM10 MkII cymbals work on the old DM10 kit?  DM cymbals usually have 2 plugs, but this one seems to have just the 1.

I'm also wondering why there are so many views on threads on these forums, with zero replies.

Short answer ..No.
The Ride 1 and Ride2/Perc1 are tied together as a circuit and designed to work with a 2 cable Ride when the Ride is set to Triple(3) zone as are the Ride Voices/Samples.There are no individual samples for the Ride (Bell,Bow and Edge)...The Ride Voices are combination.

The best you can do with a single cable Triple(3) zone cymbal is set the Ride to Dual Zone..the Bell and Bow will work, when struck it will show up as Bow in the trigger settings..the Bell will also sound on the edge..especially if you squeeze the choke..but there will be no edge or choke.

If the Ride is set to Dual (2) zone then the Ride2/Perc1 input can now be used for dual zone..if using a dual zone cymbal set the Rim to switch.

You have to view a thread first to know if you have an answer or not.Just because it's viewed doesn't mean the viewer has an answer, they could have the same question.
Some threads have multiple questions and get off topic or it's been answered multiple times by members and the poster doesn't use the search or last but not least the answer is in the user guide which is the first thing everyone should read..before posting.
