Modified Yamaha DTX430 to Alesis Mesh Kit
« on: December 07, 2017, 01:14:53 PM »
I got this set for a good deal on a return. My brother had just moved into a new apartment and didn't have space for an acoustic set plus he's into recording. I basically sold everything I didn't want (he wouldn't want).

Here is the result. Sorry, the pictures aren't as clear/light as they could be.

I did make a video and posted on YouTube that has better clarity. Unsure if I can share the link but this would appear in searches.

Titled
"Custom Yamaha DTX430K"

Yamaha integrated clamps within the 7" pads so I needed to get universal ones. I also replaced the cymbals because who wants a half moon cymbal.

Everything works really well except the ride/bell input is integrated into one sensor so playing requires finesse with hits.

Was my brother happy? Yes! We wrapped some Alesis shells we had and converted to mesh.
