DM10 Performance Videos - Disaster Recovery Band
« on: November 06, 2017, 04:49:47 PM »
Well, I FINALLY got our performance videos up on YouTube for the last couple of shows that our band had.  These are from early August and late September.  We had a gig with a fill-in lead guitarist in late August, but didn't get any footage from that show.

These are from our show on August 12.  We played a joint-gig with two other bands to get in the door at a local spot.  We played an hour-long middle set, and then got back up on stage with both other bands for a 3-song finale.  I'm having trouble getting the finale uploaded.  I'll share it when I get it working!

Peaceful Ole Night - Eagles / John Mellencamp mashup

I Will Follow You - Another original song

Sky Is Crying - Another original song

Next is our show from September 22.  This was an outdoor show, and was the last gig with our lead guitarist, so it was a bit of a send-off.

Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix

Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes

Grab What You Can - One more original song

I'm using my DM10 with stock sounds, running through our Behringer digital mixer and out through our Bose PA system.  Our setup, and the Alesis kit, have allowed us to play shows in some places that a band with an acoustic kit wouldn't be able to.

We have another gig this Saturday, our first with our new lead guitarist.  I'll share footage from that (assuming we can get some) as soon as it's available!

Hope you guys enjoy!

Very cool.

What type of amp are you playing thru? The kit came thru perfectly.

In the first set of videos, the kit is run directly into the sound board and out through the house PA system.  We actually wished we had gotten a hook-in to the board, we found out after the show that we could have gotten a soundboard recording of the night.  We had my kit, a Roland e-Kit, and an acoustic kit set up on stage, and all three going at the same time for the finale.  My Alesis held its own against the acoustic kit.  Aside from the rush of playing with two other drummers, I had an amazing sense of pride in my setup!

For the second set, it's running into a Behringer XR-18 digital mixer, and out through a Bose PA, which is two speaker "sticks," each paired with a bass cabinet.  I believe it's the Bose L1 system (I may be wrong about that).  One Bose stick supports a room of up to 200 people.  In the outdoor videos, you can see the sticks, one over our keyboardist's left shoulder, and the other unfortunately blocking view of our bass player at times.  This is our usual and preferred setup.  Most of the places we play require that we bring our own PA, and this one works perfectly.  It produces such a clean sound, and in most cases, we don't even need stage monitors, although I usually have one under my kit for an extra boost in sound so I can hear the main mix.
