Silence of the Cymbal Triggers

Has anyone used rubber tips on their drumsticks and does it significantly reduce the click sound when performing in small, quiet spaces?  I'm thinking the Tama silent tips (sort of like rubbers for drum stick tips).

I was googling around and came across this as a possible option.  RockBand the game is useful to drummers after all:

Pro - thanks for the tip on the tips.  I'm not sure it would work for certain stuff but this morning I thought of just pulling the band up on a rute.

Vic Firth produces a stick with rubber head! Its called SSJ3 ScoJo. its a marching stick... but as you can see in the video it is not influencing the play feeling ;)
here is a funny video where the stick is used! http://www.vicfirth.com/features/DCI2007/video/BD01HQ.html
