New to drumming, need some advice
« on: June 25, 2018, 02:09:09 PM »
Hi guys,

I'm looking for my first E-drum kit. I've stumbled upon multiple like the Roland TD-9 and the TD-4... HD-3.. etc.
Though, I've come across another brand called Alesis, and they have this new Alesis Surge set.

It sounds great but it's missing "dual zone" cymbals. Now, I don't know a lot about drumming but I've done some research and it's about having two different sounds right?
Is this really a issue for people? I'm wondering. They said the kit is expandable, but their current dual zone cymbals are rarely on stock here in my country.
So... is it possible to extend the kit with equipment from another brand?

Also the drum module is limited to 16 pre-defined kits, and a bunch of user kits. But some say you can still plug in to your PC with midi-usb and have different sounds.
Is that true? And if so, how can I achieve that myself. Since, I think eventually it would be cool do expand the kit with other sounds from Interwebs :p

Any other (budget) recommendations are welcome as well!

Thank you in advance! :)
