SNEAK PEEK: New Simmons pads

"The last Simmons equipment rolled off the assembly line in 1999 and many e-drummers are kicking themselves that they didn't grab spare drum pads before they disappeared.

Now, 25 years later, there's a resurgence of interest in original analogue e-drum gear and any pads that appear in the second-hand market are quickly snapped up.

But the scramble will soon be over, with a few key former Simmons guys collaborating to resume production of the iconic hexagonal pads.

We'll bring you all the details when the project is officially announced, but in the meanwhile, here is a picture of the new pads."

Who is doing this? I knew Behringer will redo all simmons module, they already did one, and are doing all retro synths since a while. But the new simmons pad they should use better rubber "rebound" it was too much hard for wrist not good, like you hit a plywood surface and causing damage.

I have no idea..as in the link and the post..a few key former Simmons guys collaborating to resume production of the iconic hexagonal pads.
Looks like they have Simmons Blessing with the Logo being on them.

I had a  SDS-V (SDS5) for in storage for years and sold it...also a TAMA Techstar kit and sold it a year or so ago to a collector in Japan...they paid up $$$ for the set.
There were both wrist breakers.I put some 6mm foam (exercise mat) and new Mylar Heads on a set of the square TAMA's for friend and it was much better....still a shock to the joints tho.
The TAMA drums had Pressed wood/particle board and used different Piezos than the ceramic discs of today..
I have a box of replacements somewhere..metal housing that screwed to the Wood.
They did work with current modules when I tried them.
