Alesis Strata Prime Electronic Drum Kit

The Strata Prime kit is a huge leap forward for Alesis drums. It boasts the best module, cymbals, and drums they have made to date. You get a state of the art drum module with a large color touch screen, 360 degree triggering cymbals, a hi hat which features a magnetic open/close sensor, and updated pads and rack system to round it out.

The module is brand new and replaces the Strike Pro module. It has a 10.1" color touch screen, includes the BFD drum sample library of 40GB. The module has a whopping 128GB of internal storage. The samples are multilayer to the extreme with 200,000 samples to create the 75 included user kits.

The new cymbals are 360 degree triggering and the 14 inch hi hat is completely redesigned to give a very realistic open close hi hat experience. It comes with two 16 inch crashes and an 18" ride.

The drums are all dual trigger and feature quiet mesh heads. The 20" kick is the same kick drum from the Strike Pro SE kit. A sturdy rack support all the toms and cymbals. The snare drum uses a snare stand which is included. The toms are 8, 10, 12, 14 inches.

What's included:

    Strata Prime Drum Module
14 hi hat with magnetic open/close mechanism and 360 degree triggering
    2 x 360 degree triggering 16" Crash Cymbals
18" ride cymbal with 360 degree triggering
14" Snare Drum with rimshot and cross-sticking
8, 10, 12, 14 inch rack mounted toms with mounts included
20" kick drum with red sparkle finish
All drums come with mesh heads
4 Post heavy duty rack system
    Snare Stand
    1 Year Warranty

Hi Hat Stand and Kick Pedal are not included but we sell them if you need them. You will also need headphones, a drum throne, and sticks.

Wow! @ChrisK, I assume is this info is from edrumcenter.com before it was taken down?

It's very interesting that Alesis went to a more electronic looking kit and pulled back from the acoustic look of the Strike. I like it. I'm not big on the gold hardware. I think the gold is kind of faddish.

Update: I was able to verify that this info is from edrumcenter.com. Using a simple Google search you can find these images:

This is pretty exciting news!

My thoughts copied from vdrums:

I wonder how much will be backwards compatible with the strike.

Things like rimshot, cross stick, new hi hat.

I really love my strike with lemon cymbals, so I don't want to have to change stuff out - hoping for module only.

It's also interesting to see Estepario in one picture. I wonder how involved he has been or if he's just going to have one video promotion, get a paycheck and never be seen with it again.

Also, are we going to run into any weird stuff like 200mb per kit?

Price to performance looks great compared to the rest of the market - but at $3500 I certainly am out for the full kit. Everything has got so expensive in the last few years.

The drum module itself looks to be called "PRIME DRUM MODULE". It's a little hard to make out but it's there (must be logged in to see image).

I've been looking over the drum pads (via the known pictures) and these appear to be slightly different from the Strike.

They do not include the control knob that is on the pads from the Strike. Not a big deal, as I doubt most people didn't really use them anyway. However that may (or may not) suggest a different internal design. I do like the recessed input jacks on the bottom of the pads as it should make for a much cleaner look with cable management.

The pads on the Strata Prime look more electronic than acoustic and seem to be more standardized (IMO that's a good thing). I say this because even the snare (pictured in a stand) still has an L-rod mount.

These pads should be a little quieter then the strike pads mainly because the bottom of the pads have vent holes.

I'm guessing most of the $3500.00 price tag is in the module, because these pads look to be a cost reduced version of the Strike pads. I wonder if Alesis will release a Pro version at some point with more upgrades?

As to the module being sold by itself, I would guess that wouldn't happen until sometime after the launch of the Strata Prime kit. This seems to be how edrum companies do things these days. I would be really shocked if the module is sold separately at the same time as the launch of the new kit. That rarely happens.

Now that the cat is out of the bag regarding the Strata Prime, will Alesis discontinue the Strike Pro SE?  They have quite a few different electronic kits, and it is costly to produce and support multiple kits.

I have had a Strike Pro SE on order since mid-January.  I wonder if I may receive one of the last Strike Pro SE kits to be made.  ::)

Alesis/InMusic will not be happy with leak... exactly because of that.. buyers will get nervous about purchasing a Kit soon to be discontinued.
The last date I seen was Mid Feb..and we are well past that.
Thomann USA..supposedly has stock...but you know how that goes , plus if it's actually shipped from Europe there is a Customs Law in the US that started a few years back and a single item over $800 has to pay duties/customs tax..(Depends on Countries Classification)
I know a few who purchased items significantly cheaper than advertised in the US from Thoman and thought they were saving money... then got the notice when it made it to Customs.

Where do you have it on order?..Deposit?..
Guitar Center etc and others usually follow the Fed Law (US) which items can't have deposits on them etc for more than 90 days.
I have gone through it with GC numerous times....usually they contact after 30...then after another 30...then when approaching 90 they offer refund and you have to re-order again.I would read through any documentation you were given.

My Strike Pro SE is on order with Sweetwater.  They gave me a great deal on other hardware (double DW pedal and hihat stand).

No deposit.

You are in good shape then...Sweetwater always takes care of their customers and does whats best for them.
You should be in a line with others (Backorders etc) and Sweetwater never charges you until it's shipped.
I have been using them for years and have a cabinet full of the little bags of candy they always send with orders..lol.

As far the waiting and wondering..you have seen the New Kit and the price is MSRP so hard to say what the actual price will be and purchasing a kit at EOL (End of Life) and the start of a New one is a tough choice if your purchase is based on a budget.

Off Topic but Sweetwater has a New Gear Exchange Program and I am getting ready to sell a lot of gear through it..you have the choice of putting the sales proceeds on account and not pay seller fees or transaction fees through Paypal etc..thus not being reported for the $600.00 IRS law.
It's like eliminating the middle man (ebay, reverb etc)

I heard from Sweetwater yesterday that the estimated availability of the Strike Pro SE is now early/mid April due to "supply chain issues."  My imagination runs wild with what that could mean. :(  Has Alesis already ceased production of the Strike Pro and switched over to the the Strata Prime?  Or, as with so many electronic devices, does the Strike Pro SE use some components that are no longer available?

I know you can't control these things, but too bad we didn't have this link back when people were actually talking about. Now this video has kind of lost its punch.  :-\

The only difference between last week and this week is the Strata Prime Kit was leaked..
If the STRIKE Pro SE is going to be discontinued that won't happen until after the release of the Strata Prime kit..if/when the STRIKE Pro SE is discontinued it might be months after the release..maybe the "STRIKE" Product Line will remain in the Line up...no one knows.
The STRIKE and STRIKE Pro Kit's weren't discontinued the very day the STRIKE Pro SE was released but later on...and now that there has been a Leak about a New Kit those with backorders/waiting will have to make a decision as I mentioned previously...Purchase a Kit that may be EOL (it's 5 years old) or wait/save up /pay more for the the New Kit.
Youtube is filled with those complaining they purchased the STRIKE Pro then 30 days later the STRIKE Pro SE was released and if they knew they would have waited..same applies to everything else and all other products.
The STRIKE Pro SE could also just being restocked and sold through the end of the year...maybe the New Kit won't be released for months..no one can say for sure other than Alesis.
New products are typically released in the fall..Holiday season etc or after an announcement/press release during NAMM.
InMusic/Alesis wasn't present at NAMM and there has been no Press release.

It's a guessing game and will depend on patience..Do you want a kit sooner....or later.. or if you have a specific budget you are sticking to.
You aren't out any money (Non-Refundable deposit etc)..so you are in a position to go one way or the other.

The Features for the module and the large amount of additional space suggest file importing and there is no mention of wav...so it may be proprietary and a feature also included in BFD4.
I have no knowledge of anyone Beta Testing BFD4 (There was Beta for BFD Player) or if it was being offered as I would have signed on.
I am an active member in the BFD Forum
If the release is like the BFDPlayer Official release.(The BFDPlayer and Nitro Max were Released on the same day)
Then BFD4 and Strata Prime will be released on the same day ..or close to one another..which is of course...pure speculation on my part..

There was another Leaker yesterday..Music Matter (UK)..pretty much the same info other than 1 more pic additional/angle of the Strata Prime Kit.
I have never heard of them...maybe they did it to steer traffic towards them....

A US retailer has also listed it... "New Item - Coming Soon"
I signed up for the Notify When Available/Stock Alert...but that's pretty much all one can do at this point.

Apparently several people on different social media platforms seem to think the new Alesis kit is a fake.  :o

I guess people no longer have the ability to use a damn search engine anymore (or the ability to use critical thinking skills).  ::)

Is it really that hard to believe that new info on a product might get leaked before the official announcement????

lol...Maybe they think everything available was generated by AI..

I attached the best out of the best from AI Generators..the others I generated from multiple AI Generators look like something from a Horror Movie..

EDIT:
I forgot to mention that's why I also posted an image of the page from the Retailer (BHPhotoVideo) that had it listed...just like the others...the listing/web page has been taken down...

There was no leaking information, Alesis delayed the release, they did not advice everyone. The release date was early march, not any retailers fault, Kraft, BHP, Edrumcenter etc..They received all allowed media to publish, then Alesis delayed it. Not sure why Alesis did this, usually you need to have video, web site ready when you send media to retailers store.

I have to ask, How do you know this?

Seems a little odd that Alesis wouldn't have gotten the word out to all the vendors.

Speaking of odd, it seems a little odd that people really don't seem to want to talk about this new kit. In the past (meaning just a few years ago) if info came out like this for any higher end kit, people would be talking like crazy about it. Now people just seem skiddish talking about it. Why? People seem to be acting as if they are going to get in trouble if they say anything.

When something like this happens, it tends to be in the company's best interest to embrace the mistake. Use it to their advantage to hype the kit even more, but no. Alesis seems to have taken a hush hush position. It's so strange. I get they don't want to make the same mistakes they made on the Strike, but this just feels odd.

The Kit seems to be at some Retailers...there's a pic of a Strata Prime Kit at a Guitar Center making the rounds on the Interweb...
There are (4) Guitar Centers in my area..one is less than 5 mins away.If I get a chance I'll drop in and see if I can get an up close view.
I haven't visited with the Manager in Drums & Percussion in awhile.
