Replacement for a Command X/Crimson snake cable

It's been a while since I was dealing with my dead hi-hat pedal issue, which I even bought a new continuous alesis hi-hat pedal which still doesn't close the hi hat for my Command X kit. Is there any way I can replace the cable snake with a generic db25 to 9 channel TRS interface, or would it be easier to depin the hihat control pin, remove the hihat cable from the harness completely, then solder up a new TRS cable and db pin? I'd really like to avoid spending $95 on ebay buying a new harness if I could.
