DM10 No Sound, Non Alesis AC 9V Power Source
« on: December 08, 2021, 06:08:36 AM »
Hi All,

new to this system and e-drumming. I'm getting the same issue as the link below. I don't have an original power source, but am using an AC 240V -> 9V adapter, see attached pic. Wondering if the 9V is producing enough, and maybe need to set to 12V? The trigger circles are black, and I see individual movement when in the relevant settings for each one. I also see the flakiness when selecting note chase and go into ext trig and try to select each one. Also, button selections are slow, need to press a few times to get a response.

Got the below when posting...pic is approx 2MB .jpg

Considering buying this one below...I do notice mine is only 0.16A and this one is 2.0A, and I also notice in another thread, similar issue someone mentioned 1.5A. Is the 0.16A too low?

The original DM10 module requires 9V 1.5A AC...some of the very early modules reportedly had 1.3A..tho I have never seen one
.16A is way too low...only a 16th of an Amp..I am surprised anything works on the module at all.You need a minimum 1.5A and AC..not DC.

DM10 Adapter Problems

The ebay link with the 2.0A AC should work fine..the module will only draw the amperage it needs.....too low amperage and things start heating up as it tries to draw more than the power adapter can provide.

EDIT:
After checking your dropbox..the adapter you have is actually putting out 600mA..which is still way too low..

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Either way, 0.16 or 600mA, as you stated, it's still way too low. I've ordered the ebay one. Thanks again!
