Intermittent triggering of my Roland TR-8 via my Alesis "Nitro"
« on: February 20, 2020, 08:56:12 AM »
Roland TR-8: aka “the Beast”, and the Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit, aka “Nitro.”

Problem: sparodic triggering of the Beast by the Nitro electric drum kit.
Direct inject,5 pin MIDI I/o connection cables. Playing a constant four on the floor pattern yields  a trigger every 4 to 5 hits. I’ve reset both units to factory defaults.  Checked the soft weak strong settings on the Beast, as well as threshold, velocity curves on the Nitro. Still the same results.

Although, when I connect the Nitro to my Yamaha Motif rack : no problem at all everybody’s’ home and sounding off.
Also connected my Samson Graphite 49 to the “Beast “ and no problem triggering all the sounds on the TR-8 unit. Any ideas?

Thanks

My apologies. In the original post, I failed to mention that when you press the start/stop button on the Nitro Module, The Beast DOES play back the correct drum sound.Hitting the drums manually is when the problem occurs.
Sorry about that.
