Hello,

I just got a "Nitro Pro" drum set. I EXCLUSIVELY use it with VSTi plugins in Reaper.

I've found the hi-hat situation to be the weakest part, and I'd like to upgrade to something that has more than 3 hi-hat open/closed states. On the nitro pro, there is effectively only 2 states because the "half open" is extremely difficult to find on the pedal for some reason.

I'm wondering if I in fact just have to get a completely different module that support MIDI CC4 to get a better experience.

I'm on the verge of returning this kit to musicians friend.. hoping to find a reasonably affordable way to get a better hi hat experience.
Cheers

If you are wanting "continuous" hi-hat (meaning the module sends CC#4), you need a module that supports that feature. There is no way around that. I don't know if the Nitro Pro supports continuous hi-hat. If it doesn't then, yes you will need a different module.
