Long time Alesis owner (going back to Ion rebadged kits with SR16 brains), a custom Trigger IO kit, various DM10 kits and upgrades/mods, finally just started fresh with Strike Pro SE. Super Stoked!
I'm running my Strike midi out into Steven Slate 5.5 (have all the expansions <3) running under either Studio 1 DAW or SaviHost (just for drumming along, etc) and then sending that out via ASIO to the aux in the Strike brain to run to my drum monitors. I can run either onboard sounds or VSTs this way via either the Simmons monitors or my studio setup.
