Alesis Command x

Recently purchased a brand new Alesisi Command X kit for my 12 year old son, I too play it as well to just have fun or teach him some fundamentals. My son does take professional in person lessons as well. The purchase of the kit also came with "Melodics", which I downloaded as I figured cant hurt to have so work at home, and maybe some fun playing songs.

Ive connected the module via MIDI/USB to a laptop. I did not have to map the set due to it compatible with Melodics. With and without Melodics it appears that we are having hi-hat issues, it doesn't always sound closed when closed or doesn't sound open when clearly open.

I presume its an issue due to hi hat and pedal being separate cords and not really one unit. I do have insurance on it and plan to have it replaced to see if that's the issue. I was wondering is there a compatible one unt hit hi-hat for the alesisi, as in the real stand with pedal and a true hit hat the visually open/closes?

Welcome to the Forum !

Melodics doesn't support a Variable Hi Hat..the mapping is only for GM..Open/Closed...

Go in to the Command Module..Menu>Utility> Turn GM Mode ON ...Restart Melodics..see if that resolves it.
If you are only using the sounds in Melodics you can also turn Local Control OFF..that turns off the Modules Internal Sounds.

For additional Troubleshooting I provided a Link for Triggering

If you want to hear the Modules Drums Sounds..I also provided a link for that
