Am planning on buying dmpad cymbals on ebay which are taken from dm10 sets. it doesn't include those anti rotation thingys.  what other methods/devices can i use as an alternative? the cheaper the better...

Hi Jetleebog.

There are different versions of cymbal adapters and cymbal mountings inside the pads used from Alesis.
I would like to introduce them for showing the difference.

1.) Conic cymbal adapter:

That adapter is used for the conic cymbal mounting inside this pad:

2.) Round top cymbal adapter with angle:

That adapter is used for the "round cymbal mounting with angle groove" (sorry for my english):

3.) Hybrid cymbal mounting inside the pad:

This pad works with both shown cymbal adapters.

The cymbal adapters are sometimes available at drum stores (depending on the drum store if that store is an expert for e-drums).
Another thing is that you can make a phone call to ALESIS and PEARL.
They are using the same adapters.
I phoned Alesis in Germany and received 5 adapters (for Surge cymbals) for free.
Just ask very friendly.

ROLAND is selling the conic adapters in a small version:

DIY idea:
Use a broomstick (or full plastic bar), cut it and drill a hole through it.
Rasp the top to make it fit with the cymbal and clue thin foam on top to protect (and dampen) the adapter.
If you need the angle you can glue a thin wooden piece at the side.
At last use a woodscrew from the side to make it tight with the cymbal arm.

No !
The Aquarian Spring Mount is too thick. It does not fit through the hole of the DMPad cymbals.
I just tested it out for you.

You cannot cut or remove the "ring" beneath the thread.

I used the Aquarian Spring Mounts with Surge cymbals but I do not like them.

Do you happen to know which version of anti-rotation adapter was used on the DM10 MKII Pro kit? I think it was  212010248PLUS but trying to verify.

Thanks.
