What is the best module Alesis has made so far

I have the original dm10. Maybe I am better served pairing it to drum software on a laptop rather than getting a newer strike pro kit used

Software will always be better choice ;)
As for the best module , Alesis DM Pro module is still the king regarding editing voices plus you could import up to 8mb (!) samples

I've got the DM10 and have been using Addictive Drums almost from the start, love it compared to the sounds I get from the module. There's a free version you can try out, gives four pieces to test and I don't believe its a trial, you can keep using it but you're limited to hi-hat, kick, snare and one other.
