How do you monitor your DM10
digitaldarth:
I was wondering how everyone here listens to their DM10 while playing. I run mine through a small mixer and use VST's on my Mac. I had an inexpensive pair of Sony headphones but I was getting distortion when I played my drums at high volume. I've been shopping for new high quality headphones and settled on the Beats line by Monster / Dr. Dre. (In Ear version) I got them today and I am VERY impressed with the quality and clarity at high volume levels. The sound of my rig is AMAZING. I just couldn't hear it through the phones I was hearing them through. What do you guys use?
Guinness:
I tried those ear buds... they had a really good low end. I was curious how they would sound with the DM10.
Can you hear stick to pad? Or does it seal the ear canal enough?
I use a pair of Shure over ear headphones. I like them a lot... good range.
digitaldarth:
The tips I use isolate the music. I tried the over the ears too and loved them but the in ears are easier to transport. So far so great.
Jo Bofunkle:
Alesis DM10 Master L/R outputs > Behringer Xenyx 1202 > EMU 0404 PCI > Behringer Xenyx 1202 > Alesis M1 Active Studio Monitors / 4 channel headphones amp via Control Room/Headphones.
Burning Tires:
I usually plug straight into my amp via main stereo outs, or use the headphones out with earbuds or studio phones. I can hear better through the phones but I'll get "ear fatigue" after awhile so I generally like to play through the amp.
