Which rack is newer?
« on: January 28, 2014, 09:14:50 PM »
I just noticed that there are 2 different racks for the DM10 Studio kit---which one is better? (Which one is newer?) There's this one...

...and then there's this one:

I'm about to buy my first e-kit and didn't notice the difference 'til now.

Thanks!
Scott

Okay, I think the bottom rack/photo above is the newer one, right? (The 4-leg rack.) If this is true, is it safe to assume that any DM10 Studio kits sold on eBay with the rack in the TOP photo are older year-model kits? (If so, I'd think I'd want the newest year model I can get.)

Thanks,
Scott

Yes.  Agree.

The rack on the bottom is the one I just got 2 weeks ago from Sweetwater.

I believe the bottom one was introduced in 2010 - it is better and sturdier.
It's still cheap and wobbly compared to other racks like Gibraltar rack parts, but it's better than the first one. :)

Yeah. I'm trying to shore mine up a bit more as it does move quite a bit when hitting the cymbals.
