Goedrum GHC Electronic Hi-Hat Controller with Alesis Crimson 2
« on: September 17, 2019, 05:31:35 AM »
Hi all,

Looking to upgrade the hi hat on my alesis crimson 2 so that i can use it with a hi hat stand.

I've looked into getting the alesis pro x but have seen worrying reviews.

Is the Goedrum GHC Electronic Hi-Hat Controller compatible with the alesis crimson 2 and has anybody tried this set-up ?

Else, is there any alternative to recommend ?

Thanks

I couldn't get it to work 100% with my Crimson module. Crimson II shouldn't be any different since the differences are cosmetic and superficial.

Check out my problem here: https://www.alesisdrummer.com/index.php?topic=7190.msg49186#msg49186

Another user mentions attempting to use it and not getting it to work properly: https://www.alesisdrummer.com/index.php?topic=7338.msg52305;topicseen#msg52305

So I think it's a no-go unless you really mess with it. It may need a resistor soldered in.

I really have no issue with my Pro-X. But my only comparison is the Crimson's original isolated foot pedal and cymbal.
I bet if I played a VH-11 I would spit on the Pro-X.

Possibly Jobeky's hi-hat?

It might be a long shot. They list a bunch of compatible Roland modules.
I just converted an acoustic snare using one of their 4-arm triggers and it's awesome.

Actually I may e-mail them myself and see if they have anything to say on it.
