Alesis Crimson hi hat half opened sound
« on: October 21, 2024, 09:59:03 AM »
Hi,
is there a specific sound for half opened position on Alesis Crimson hi hat?
It's not clear. There is a mention of half opened position on Alesis' website but I cant find any difference when using RealHat pedal.
Same thing with the Goedrum GHC-AC module, I can only trigger open and closed sounds.
Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum !

There isn't a Specific 1/2 Open Hi Hat if that's what you are looking for.
As far as Transitioning from Closed to Open there is a better Transition for some Hi Hats but the only ones I remember (off the top of my head) was the Acoustic1 and the Standard1 Kits and the only way to hear the transition was to increase the Kit EQ's (evenly) which are Amplitude based...you will hear more detail  to the articulations
Set the High to 12..Mid and Low to 8...then listen to the Transition as you raise the pedal..you should hear more than just Open/Closed.

EDIT:
I forgot to mention..if you are using Headphones turn them down as the Kit/Articulations will get Loud.

Thanks for your reply.
Indeed it's very subtle.
