Alesis DMHat V2

I managed to finally obtain (Reasonable Price) some of the DMHat V2 Pedals and disassemble in order to clear up the Confusion about the original DMHat and DMHat V2...
The DMHat V2 Pedal Housing has the same Standard DMHat Housing as the Original with Open/Closed label..The Metal Tab/Tang is the RealHat Style...Fixed (Travel = Non_adjustable).
The Original DMHat used a Switch that was flipped up and down (Open/Closed..ON/OFF) by a Metal Tab/Tang on the Pedal during Pedal Travel.

The DMHat V2 uses a "Stepped" Rubber Actuator and a "Segmented" Linear Softpot and a 1/8" jack with an adapter to fill the gap for the original 1/4" Jack.
The alignment for the 2 larger steps on the Rubber Actuator are a bit off so they don't hit dead center of the resistance area for full resistance/pressure.
I believe there was a Yamaha pedal with a "Resistor Ladder" years ago.

It has been determined The Nitro,Surge and Nitro Max do not have a Variable Hi hat.
The module(s) using this Type of Pedal Do Not interpret/send CC4...only AfterTouch, which is typical of a Hi Hat in a Choke Group.

Continuous/Variable Type Pedal is misleading...
A Rubber Actuator and Softpot qualifies it as a Continuous/Variable "Type" Pedal (Realhat).?

For Example:

Surge Mesh Kit FAQ?s

Is the Hi-hat pedal a continuous or switch-type pedal?

"The Hi-Hat pedal included with the Surge Kit is a continuous variable type pedal. This pedal allows for open, half-open, and closed hi-hat sounds, and will also allow for "chick" and "splash" sounds when the pedal is pressed down and released without striking the hi-hat cymbal pad."

The DMHat V2 does work as Variable Hi Hat Pedal with many modules I tried.
eDRUMin recognizes it and you can manipulate the levels and create different Hi Hat setups..
How well this works when applied to software SD3..BFD3..etc etc is unknown at this point.
