Alesis Nitro Mesh Rack Too Low
« on: August 20, 2019, 12:24:44 PM »
Hi folks, recently got the Nitro Mesh kit and love it so far....Except, the rack is way too low - any of you have ideas or examples of how to raise this rack?

I thought of the following so far

1. Set it on top of paint cans - will likely work fine but some ugly boy!
2. 1.5inch black pvc pipe with a set screw or something similiar on each rack leg
3. Maybe with a piece of 4x4 i could drill into it some so the leg would drop down a few inches

...none of these are ideal and I was hoping the community might have some other ideas. Google has not helped.

Thanks
Zinger

You could buy a single length of pipe or 2 and cut to replace the legs. Then you would have heaps of pipe left over for other diy projects. Like mounting more pads off the rack.

Thanks...but, where would i buy pipe the same as the rack? I like the look of the black aluminum and wouldn't want to cheapen the kit anymore.

I would just get a new rack.

I had bought an OSP kit a few years ago - two vertical posts with horizontal bars with end-caps for feet. It was nice, but I thought a 4-poster rack would be more stable. I spotted a Nitro rack on eBay and bought it (only paid $25 w/shipping). When I received it, I was shocked at how short it was.

If I had known, I never would have bought it.

Now I have a Crimson Mesh kit and really like the taller rack it has.

I guess the Nitro is for kids or small people.  ;D

Yes too low , I wanted to match the geometry of my acoustic set .
I took 1 inch PVC pipe  turned or sand it just enough to fit in the bottom of the legs. I also wrapped a little black tape on the bottom so the rubber foot fit tight. works great.

I got around this issue by 3D printing some risers for each leg.

I used a set of furniture risers to hike my nitro kit up

I know this is a bit of an old post, but if you're still around any chance you could share the files for the risers you printed?

EDIT: Actually, never mind, I just found yours (and others) on Thingiverse.  ;D
