Mesh Tom to Mesh Kick conversion

Hello all

Has anyone adapted a tom pad to use as a kick pad?
I mean.... constructed a base for it to be used with a kick pedal?

I've swapped my DM10's 8" kick pad and tried one of my 10's and 12's, using the stand that comes with the kit but it holds larger pads. I also have a Laurin kick drum which his company mounts on a steel frame somewhat similar. I guess my point is, if you can build yourself a makeshift frame out of wood or steel you could mount your kick pad
DM10X with Addictive Drums 2, Pro X hi-hat, 4 crashes, foam cone conversion w Roland mesh heads, Laurin Drums snare and kick, Mapex P710W double kick pedal, Mapex 2 legged hi-hat, Behringer 8 channel USB mixer, Tascam 144MK AI, Samson Expedition Escape powered speakers

thank you

I will need to buy a kick pedal first to customize the frame for the pad to the correct height.

Do you recommend to have the non felt beater centered on the drum?  or off-center is the preferred position to avoid the beater hitting directly over the sensor?
