Hi all,
I?ve been using Alesis Modules for a few years now, initially a Nitro DM7 (which is currently available to purchase) and now a DM10 Mk2 Pro.
I purchased Roland HD1 a few years ago to use for rehearsal and during Covid lockdown started do some recordings. The limitations of the kick and hi hat pedals on the HD1 quickly became apparent!
I did some research and after working out how the tech worked, I began to modify the HD 1 by buying the Nitro Module, a regular hi hat stand and kick pedal. I bought a Roland KD8 kick pad which worked perfectly with the Nitro Module - lots of nuts, bolts and some clamps.
The hi hat was a different story! After some great info on here and other websites I was able to build an infra Red hi hat controller which works a treat!
I got a good deal on a 2nd hand Alesis DM10 Mk2 so bought it and lashed that to the Roland HD1 rack, in addition to the 2 Roland HD1 pads I added another Roland Pad, a Yamaha dual zone hi Hat cymbal (I use it as a crash - with choke!) and an Alesis dual zone Ride.
It all works well and I can lift the whole thing in and out of my car as a single unit! 👌

Welcome to the forum!

That infra Red hi-hat controller sounds pretty neat. Do you have a picture of it? That would make a great topic in the Do-It-Yourself or DIY section of the forum.
