What the hell?
<John>: Next question:
<Mike>: ok
<John>: Can you get me a quote for
<John>: DMPad 12" Crash
<John>: i didn't see it on the site.
<Mike>: I'll try again one moment please
<John>: it should be "with choke". The DMPad 12" Cymbal is without choke.
<Mike>: let me get you to a tech one moment
<Roger>: Hello, John! My name is Roger. How may I help you?
<John>: Hey there Roger
<John>: <John>: Can you get me a quote for
<John>: <John>: DMPad 12" Crash
<John>: <John>: it should be "with choke"
<Roger>: Are you talking about the CY12 pad?
<John>: no, Alesis.
<John>: Isn't CY12 Roland?
<Roger>: Yes it is, one moment please.
<Roger>: We do not sell that particular pad separately ourselves unfortunately.
<John>: Are you an authorized Alesis dealer?
<Roger>: Yes we are, we cannot do any special ordering though.
<John>: This is an AMS or Alesis policy?
<Roger>: This is our policy.
<John>: That's unfortunate. Ok. thanks for the assistance.
<Roger>: Have a great day!
<System Support>: Thank you for calling Customer Service Center.
This "policy" significantly undermines the credibility of this distributor. And if I was in charge of distributor relations for Alesis, I'd re-evaluate this relationship. They literally pushed roland over alesis, when i specifically asked for Alesis. As someone who spent 15+ years in the distribution business, I can understand product/inventory rationalization. However, what i can't understand, is they didn't offer me any solution other than Roland. They now lost my business going forward. (As soon as my studio kit arrives
)
I'm the type that likes to keep the same look/manufacture in a drum kit. So, i want an Alesis DMPad Crash, not Roland.
Anyways, FYI. Unless you're buying something instock/listed on their website, I'd steer clear of American Musical Supply.
